Organic Salts

Weigh^® Organic-Salt Series: Weigh2 / Weigh3 / Weigh4 / Weigh5

Weigh is a family of water-soluble weighting and inhibition materials based on low-carbon alkali-metal organic acid salts, ammonium organic salts, and quaternary-ammonium organic salts. It is used in drilling, drill-in, completion, workover, and weighted stimulation fluids.

By lowering water activity, strengthening inhibition, and supporting lower-solids design, the systems address HPHT wells, collapse-prone formations, salt-gypsum intervals, shale oil and gas, tight oil and gas, and extended-reach horizontal wells. Weigh2, Weigh3, Weigh4, and Weigh5 cover different density windows and formulation requirements, enabling solids-free or low-solids brine systems or high-density water-based systems combined with barite.

Encapsulators

IND30^® / IND10^® encapsulators

IND30 is a modified natural-polymer encapsulator for NATU environmental drilling fluids and conventional water-based systems. It enhances cuttings encapsulation, limits shale hydration and dispersion, and supports hole cleaning and wellbore stability. IND10 is a carboxy-hydroxy alkenyl copolymer encapsulator focused on strong encapsulation, salt tolerance, and system stability. The NATU route uses modified natural materials to reduce dependence on conventional sulfonated, polymer-heavy, and oil-based additives where suitable.

Alternative to Sulfonated Asphalt

NFA-25^®

NFA-25 is a nonfluorescent, non-asphaltic wellbore stabilizer that provides a direct alternative to sulfonated asphalt in water-based drilling fluids. It forms a tough, compressible, low-permeability filter cake to seal microfractures, stabilize shale and salt-gypsum formations, reduce HTHP fluid loss, and avoid fluorescence interference during mud logging.

It is applicable from fresh-water to high-salinity water-based systems and supports lower dependence on sulfonated and conventional black asphalt materials in shale, salt-gypsum, HTHP, and environmentally sensitive operations.

NAX50 is a nanometer-sized surfactant polymer designed to improve microfracture and nanopore sealing in water-based drilling fluids. It helps stabilize shale, coal, and fractured formations, reduce fluid loss, and enhance the overall sealing capability of the fluid system.

PGCS-1 is a solid polyglycol additive for water-based drilling fluids. It improves lubricity, helps stabilize active shale, contributes to fluid-loss control, and supports thermal stability while offering easier storage and field handling than liquid lubricants.

Filtrate Reducers

NAT20^® / Redu1^® / ReduSH filtrate reducers

NAT20 is a natural-polymer filtrate reducer for fresh-water, brine, and high-salinity water-based drilling fluids. It reduces API and HTHP fluid loss, improves filter-cake quality, and limits viscosity build. Redu1 is a carboxy-hydroxy olefin copolymer filtrate reducer for water-based systems requiring higher salt tolerance and system stability. ReduSH is a modified dextrin filtrate reducer for brine, organic-salt, and high-density systems, providing fluid-loss control with limited viscosity build.

HT Filtrate Reducers

Redu2 / Redu200 / Redu240 high-temperature filtrate reducers

Redu2, Redu200, and Redu240 are high-temperature polymer filtrate reducers. They provide robust filtration control and filter-cake quality improvement in high-temperature water-based drilling fluids. Redu2 is designed for approximately 150-180°C, Redu200 for approximately 180-200°C, and Redu240 for approximately 200-250°C applications in brine, organic-salt, and high-density systems.

Gas-Suspended Proppant

FloatX^® gas-suspended proppant additive

FloatX is a surface-treatment additive for quartz sand, ceramic proppant, and other proppants. It improves suspension and transport in slickwater, fresh water, foam, and guar-based fracturing fluids, helping address rapid settling, limited far-field placement, and sand-concentration constraints while reducing water and chemical consumption, pumping time, and dust generation.
