NANO SEALING
NAX50TM Nano-Polymer Wellbore Sealant
NAX50 addresses seepage control, sealing and wellbore-stability requirements in water-based drilling fluids for microfractures, nanopore throats, coal rock and shale formations.
Product information
NAX50 uses a nanoscale surface-active polymer to form an inner adsorption film on shale, coal rock, mudstone and microfracture surfaces. Together with a non-fluorescent, non-asphaltic wellbore stabilizer and graded bridging materials, it forms a compressible outer filter cake: a dual-layer concept of nano-scale inner sealing plus filter-cake outer sealing. IPTC paper material describes field validation in horizontal coalbed-methane wells in the Ordos Basin, including 165 mm slim holes, long laterals and coal measures with a high mudstone proportion.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is NAX50?
NAX50 is a nanoscale surface-active polymer sealing material for water-based drilling fluids.
What does it address?
It addresses seepage, sealing, wellbore stability and fluid-loss-control requirements associated with microfractures and nanopore throats.
Where can it be used?
It can be evaluated for shale oil and gas, CBM, coal rock, mudstone and naturally fractured formations.
How are parameters selected?
Material combinations, particle-size distribution and concentration are evaluated against fracture scale, shale properties, temperature-pressure conditions and the drilling-fluid system.
