GAS-SUSPENDED PROPPANT
FloatX® Gas-Suspended Proppant
FloatX applies a gas-suspension surface treatment to quartz sand, ceramic and other proppants to improve suspension and transport in multiple fracturing fluid systems.
Product information
The technology addresses limited proppant carrying capacity, rapid settling and less effective far-field placement in conventional slickwater applications. It is designed to support farther transport, wider distribution and more uniform placement. Under suitable reservoir and treatment conditions, comparison material indicates a production uplift range of about 10-30% versus comparable offset wells; actual results depend on reservoir conditions, treatment parameters and flowback practice. Operational value can also include higher proppant concentration, lower water and chemical use, shorter pumping time and dust suppression.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is FloatX?
FloatX is a fracturing technology that uses gas-suspension surface treatment to improve proppant suspension and transport.
What does it address?
It helps address rapid settling, restricted far-field transport and uneven proppant placement in conventional slickwater treatments.
Where can it be used?
It can be evaluated in slickwater, water, foam and guar-based fracturing fluid systems as part of the treatment design.
How are parameters selected?
Proppant type, treatment method, concentration and pumping schedule are selected from reservoir conditions, fracture design and flowback practice.
